In my 75 FOWLR tank I have a mated pair of Bangii Cardnals......Question: What is the value of such a pair? Is a mated pair a rare occurence? Is it worth setting up a breeder tank? Any links to the procedure for raising the babies? Upon cleaning my fuge I have found 4 baby Cardinals. How many babies do they normally have? Ect, ect. Your help is appreciated!!

They are actually one of the more common saltwater fish to breed in tanks. It is worth setting up a breeding tank if that would interest you and if you have the time. It's always good to captive raise fish. We have a classified section where I'm sure you'll be able to get rid of some of the fry. I haven't raised them myself but, they are moth brooders so you'll have a bit of a head start. They also should be fairly easy as they are far larger than baby clowns etc.

you have to keep us posted on this one.

Yes - this is one of those things that you do because it's good for the hobby, keeps people from collecting them in the wild etc. etc.

Best of luck with it. Start looking for places to sell/trade/donate the fry once they're bigger, feeding on their own and straying from the parental mouth.

i've been looking for a mated pair for over a year :( :look:
