Hey there, tis me again. Just wondering if Discus can go along with Angels, peaceful Tetras, Gouramis, or Hatchetfish. I know that corys are fine, plecos eat their slime, snails seem OK and livebearers eat their slime. Also, plz tell me what fish ARE good with them (please say something other than ''none'', I know that they ARE happier in a species tank)... O, and on second thought, what about female Bettas? I plan to wait 4-6 months before putting fish in the tank, and will have large caves, heavily planted, and a quarantine tank or 2 (One incase my Discus get attacked, one for b4 fish go in tank). I will be making small additions of fish at a time, and WILL change water % weekly (srry for the rant, but I wanna make sure you know I love my fish :joke: )

Cardinal tetras, cories catfish, small dwarf cichlids. Discus make it hard to find compatible fish. All these fish will enjoy the high temps found in Discus tanks and have no real aggression towards them.
 
Actually, corydoras prefer cooler temperatures. I wouldn't put them in a Discus tank, much too warm. I keep mine in 74 degree tanks, and they are far more active and colorful now than when I kept the tanks at 78 degrees.
 
otos make great discus tankmates and take care of algae.

It depends on the type. I commonly see corydoras sterbai with Discus and they don't seem to struggle with the high temp.
