Are the common twist compact floresent Normal output or High Output (compact floresent that are used to replace normal incandesent fixtures) .. I just bought A incandesent hood and put in 2 15 watt CF for my 10 gall tank.. How often should i replace them?

Compact Flourescent aren't NO or HO, they're their own animal. The wpg thing is (roughly) for flourescents in general. A 36w CF is 18" long, a 40w NO bulb is 48" long, but the light per watt is similar.
I had a tremendously hard time grasping this -- one night I wound up playing pool with a lighting designer in a bar… this stuff follows me around too much :rolleyes:
Reflectors, restrike, kelvin, etc…
