View Full Version : Uaru: i need advice

i cant find a whole lot on the Uaru. there is some at my petshop for $23.
#1 is that a good price
#2 any good websites
#3 are they easy to keep, one place said they were another said they werent.
#4 anything else you think is relevent, tell me.

Even if you have expertise, these are tough to keep and expensive. You need to keep them in schools in a large tank. Here is some info from the AC forums: http://www.aquariacentral.com/species/db.cgi?db=fresh&uid=default&ID=0355&view_records=1

I'd amend that profile to change the comment about plants - these fish are avid plant eaters. I'd also amend the diet note to they are omnivores - any fish that hungry for plants should likely have some in their diet.

my lfs called them the poor mans discus. because they are a little picky about water quality. i'm guessing severum are easier to keep and pretty much the same shape but different colors.

thanks a lot!!! the web site i looked at said they were easy to keep. that pretty much rules out that fish. too bad too. my water is way to hard for those fish. thanks again.

before i got my oscars i have warroos,poor mans discus what ever you call them and i had 9 them in a 12ft and they would go threw a lettuce and half a packet of blood worms in a fortnight which was quite a bit but the amout of effort you have to put in is worth it i.m.o.
