Some of those fish in ur 55 gal would look like good tankmates IMO

Do see any fish from your 55gal that would be ok with a Jag. With a tank that big you could get a breeding pair going in there but you would have to get rid of the pleco.

I had a jag and a Red Devil for three in a half years in a 75 gallon they co existed and the Red Devil died from age i would guess.

Also maybe a False Red Terror from my experience they seem shy to participate in aggresion. At my work we housed Cuban Cichlids and Manganese in a 150 and did quite well. When i would feed them around closing time they interacted quite well.

These of course can differ. But just thought i share it.

thanks guys. if i see a big tank (125 or larger) this summer at a garage sale i will probably buy it. i want a jag, but i don't think i could devote a tank to 1 fish unless i had to. How about this

1 jag
1 Jack dempsey(from 55)
1 green terror
1 pleco.
How would this work?

Your JD will probably get his butt kicked with a Jag and a GT. The same would go for the Jag, actually.

That is a dangerous combo. Jags for one get big especially he males which can hit 18" green terrors dont get as big or as mean IMO but might be ok but the Jack Dempsey might not make it with the GT and Jag and say all of these do make it the Pleco would be in danger alot more. I would go a differant route IMO.
