are they free-swimming? are the parents leading them around the tank yet? i really dont think there's that much you can do. the parents usually do a pretty good job themselves(once they get the hang of it). ive done nothing more than throw in some crushed flake and frozen daphnia for my fry. i could be wrong because thats just always been my approach: do nothing. they have gotten the parenting thing down pretty good, with the exception of my their last brood.
they wound up eating them for what seemed like no reason after they had been 'presenting' them to the tank for about a week and a half. it was kind of odd, because they were taking really good care of them, and about a week ago, i saw 'mom' tracking down one that had gone astray. when she caught up with it, she took it in her mouth and then looked as if she were chewing! she then went back down into her stump. i thought maybe that she had decided to keep them all in the stump, because she didnt come out of it for a few days and the male was being very aggressive with his territory. when she finally emerged, she was alone and ive never seen the babies since. they allow the other fish to swim around the stump now, so i know there arent any eggs or fry inside it.
