I have been using plants now in my 30g tank for about a month. I also have 3 1'' to 2'' chiclids in it. For some reason the driftwood which is in the tank is gathering green algea on it. Now i am not sure if this algea is supposed to be there for what ever reason, but i highly doubt it.

Is this algea the plant growing? Is it just algea which i should take care of? What exacly is it and what should i do?

Oh yea i forgot to mention that java moss is attached to the piece of driftwood and it is covered in the algea like substance too.

Thanks for the advice.

In order to help we will need.....tank size, amount of light in watts, pH, as many of the other water parameters as you can give us. ie. gH,kH,nitrates, ammonia, nitrates.
Your algae problem is related to the quality of your water and knowing the above info is the way for us to better know what's going on in the tank. Are there any other plants besides the java moss in the tank?
