ive got a 2 foot tank with a low voltage light i was wonder what type of plants would be good for a cod to hide in ready to grab hold of a fish?
theirs no heater and fairly well filtered
I think you best bet is some type of anibis. If you got to auabid right now they have some nice large ones for sale.

crypt wendtii and sagitaria should also work.
take a look at the 20g blackwater tank on my site (link in profile) those plants grew just fine under pretty minimal lighting. They were taller than in my other tanks, but perfectly healthy

I would put some anubius in there. Maybe a potted mother plant or some java fern attached to wood or such

What kind of predator do you have in the 2foot? Just wondering cause most predators, or should I say viscious predators won't fit in that tank.

Nice, I love sleepy cods, just never had a tank suitable for it (mainly keep discus), most of my fish will get eaten or badly bullied hehe, purple spotted gudgeons are neat too, nice coloration for a native, usually our natives are pretty dull in terms of color except the rainbows and grunters. Oh and I'm in Carlton.

yeah i just got a barcoo grunter yesterday and their also natives they are ment to be mean but if he goes near my cods hole he gets a head butt but if your looking for a barramundi and you dont have a heater buy a barcoo grunter they are almost a spliting image but fuller bodies;) i have a few purple spotted gungoens down at the shop and their realy colourful but the most interesting thing is they are freshwater but they can live in salty water were "salt water fish" cant that awsome archer fish are also an awsome fish
