Hi all,
I`ve got a big tank with 2 small Tiger Oscars in both about 3" long, I want to introduce 1 or 2 more colourfull fish and like the look of Parrot fish, if I get them a bit bigger than the Oscars will they get along OK?
I know the Oscars will out grow the Parrots in the long run. Or any other ideas on colourfull fish the keep with Oscars?
My tank is about 50 UK gallons.

Although your tank is not really large when you talk about Oscars and other compatible fish, I think you would be ok with a couple more cichlids, at least until they grow more to their mature sizes. I have been successful in the past with a Jack Dempsey and a Firemouth with Oscars in a 75 US gallon tank. Both of those are colorful and contrasting colors to the Oscars. But if your Oscars are mated, when they get in the mood for spawning, they will herd any and all other fish to one corner of the tank so they can "do their thing" without interuption. This can be interesting to watch, but very stressful for all concerned.

Parrot Fish will not be able to compete with Oscars for food.
oscars can be moody at times. i have one that is about 10 inches, 3 years old,and my buddy put his in my tank which is less than a year old, and about half the size of the other one. alot of people yell at me for putting these two together, but the little oscar is the most dominate fish in the tank. so i guess it depends on the oscar. my big one barely has the balls to eat a medium size feeder fish.
