I currently have one Dwarf Gourami along with some other species in my 29 Gallon.

Are Dwarf Gouramis happy and content by themselves, or should I add another?

My current Gouramis is a male Dwarf Honey.

Thanks for your thoughts.

You might want to add a female or two depending on your current stocking situation. Their spawning behavior makes for an interesting spectacle. Acrobatic  and  aggressive.

Aside from that they don't especially seek out the company of similar fish. They aren't schoolers or shoalers and even as a pair they may not interact all that much. I keep a pair of pearls and have my eye on a trio of honeys. I think of them as pairs, but they aren't one of the "should-keep-at-least-five" types of fish. He's probably quite content as is…

I have found it very difficult to find female dwarf gouramis. They are bred in such a way as to only produce malie (using hormones I believe).
