I just purchased 105 lbs. of flourite to use as the substrate for my 100g, soon to be planted aquarium. In introducing the flourite to the aquarium, do I treat it as any other substrate? Does it need to be thoroughly washed or will that wash the nutrients away?

Is it possible to get all of the dust out of flourite?

Anyways yes rinse it to the best of your ability before it goes into the aquarium and expect that it will probably cloud things up.

Do you have a python?

If so put the flourite in the tank. Use a plate and run the water onto the plate. If the water gets cloudy stop at half the tank and empty it. Repeat until the water is clear.

I eventually gave up on trying to completely clean mine. I think it was washing the Flourite away.

I rinsed the same bucket maybe 10 times and it was cloudy every time. I could clean up sand rinsing only 3 times.

I put it in, it clouded and cleared with in a matter of hours. It hasnt been cloudy from the flourite since.
