Petco - pretty good deal

Hey if anyone gets stuff from petco, I hear they give a bonus after every year or so (as my friend who works there was telling me) and they give you a coupon if you spend a certain level of money there, that basicly says, buy any tank at 1$/gallon.

Which means if I get the coupon, i'll skip getting a 40 Breeder, and just get a 90 Gallon :D

ok heres the scoop... every year for the past four years.... in the summer they send out a mailer to SELECTED petco pals members. it does not go to everyone. i honestly dont know how it is selected who gets one and who doesnt. the mailer has tons of great fish adn reptile coupons. i used to assume that it went to people who bought a lot of aquarium and reptile supplies. however last summer... the year after i had bought four tanks, tons of filters, heaters, lights, fish, adn about everything else.... i didnt get one. no other employee at my store got one either. i dont know if they quit sendign it to employees or if they sent out less than they had in previous years. all i can suggest is watch your mailbox... be a petco pals member... and let your local petco know that if any other customer leaves their mailer at the store cause they dont want the coupons that you would appreciate them. good luck.

Thanks for the info. Thats along the line of what my friend who works there told me (and I hope to be working there soon) when i was in the store.

I know he's gonna give me his if he gets one, and I certainly hope I get one.

I work at Petco. They usually are part of the summer run, so I'd expect in June. It's been in June or July for the last three years, and I don't know why corporate would change it. Also, with all of the Petsmarts springing up and all of the remodeling Petco's doing, most of the stores doing grand re-openings are selling tanks 20-90 gallons at a buck a gallon. A 75 for $75 is just too tempting when you don't have the money to spend...
