I was wanting to get a power head to improve surface agitation and water circulation in my 55gal community tank. I have angels, tetras, mollies, cories, and was wondering what type of power head would be good for this setup. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It really depends on what you already have pushing the tank water (you don't want to blow your fish around) but I like the AquaClear PHs. They have a nice little clip on feature if you don't have an UGF.

I think that if you place the powerhead so that is provides some water movement, but not a whirl pool, you will be fine. I agree with Voodoo--I like the aqua clears. Very reliable, easy to clean. Go with a smaller one--say a 201--so it just moves the water, it doesn't swirl it. As long as there are areas with less movement, your angels should be fine. If not, well, it will be apparent and you can remove or slow down the powerhead.
