I need you smarter folks to tell me if that would just be asking for trouble or not. I have CA cichlids (HRP's, spinosissimus, and t-bars in two different tanks), but was told by a friend that they would be ok and still be able to breed in these tanks with the CA's. I like the flowing fins on the long finned versions, but don't think they would look so great with gaps in their fins. Please folks - set me straight... can I or can't I? I'm sure some of you guys have them or have tried them, so please tell me how it worked or didn't work for you and your cichlids.

If it's ok, then perhaps someone knows of a not so expensive source for some calico longfin BN's (PM me please?).

i had a left-over pleco in my 55 when i changed over to africans. he got all beat up and i had to put him in an empty 30. then one of the fish (a yellow with black on some of the fins) was getting beat up and i put him in with the pleco. they tolerate each other, but the african stays safely in the caves i have in there, they sometimes nip each other when i feed them.the pleco is about 7 inches, i have had them for several years now.
they are f unny to watch at feeding time:)

Well africans are notoriously more aggressive than the Centrals - so I'm not sure that we're comparing apples to apples - but thanks for the warning! Plus I'm talking about the long finned plecos. Anyone have any experience with this combo?
