Bleached gravel??

The person i bought my tank off of said he bleached the gravel. Can this be dangerous for my fish? It has been rinsed with water numerous times.......

It could be dangerous, but rinse it and the tank several times and then add some dechlorinator, and I think that you would be okay.

if you rinsed it "numerous times" you really shouldn't have a problem. In fact, a lot of people do this to kill off harmful bacteria.

If you are putting this into a new tank (which I'm guessing most gravel goes into) I hope you cycle it... and you could fix any problem associated with the bleach if something truly goes wrong before you even put fish in.

yes it is cycling now, it will be a week tommorow and there are no fish in it now. so it seems ill be ok... Thanks!!
