View Full Version : what planted tank do you like?

heya guys, jsut wanted to ask, what sorty of planted aquariums do you prefer, one where all gravel it completely covered with plants, and grass type plants tocover all remaining gravel, leaving no visible surface gravel, or spacious planted tanks, with large areas with no plant, or jsut area with visable surface gravel.

I voted for visible substrate, but I want to be clear that I only want a few visible spots. I like to see the contrast, but plants should cover the majority of the bottom.

I suppose I like a completely covered substrate, but that depends on the substrate. This is a mighty cool looking tank...

If you cleverly design a substrate, it can look cool - simulating a rock-strewn creek or some other natural effect. But if you're just using Flourite or regular gravel, it looks a lot more natural to completely cover it in greenery.
