Or . . . . being a little less peeing-on-people's-parade-happy-like-you-seem-to-enjoy-doing . . . . 10 cherry shrimp would be fine in a 2.5 gallon.
It's my believe that no fish should be in a 2.5 gallon for a long time. I don't have a problem if you don't agree with that, but that doesn't mean you have to react like you do.

espada, bettas are fine in a 2.5gal. they can live in like 200mL in the wild...

i don't see the problem. i had 6g and 10g tanks during college, and it wasn't really a big problem to move them around. i brought the tanks home for every winter and summer vacation and it doesn't take a lot of work to break it down and set it up again. all you need is a bucket for transporting the fish.
