Many years ago when I had my first 2.5 gal Wal-Mart aquarium I had one of these with 2 neons. Then as I moved up to a real aquarium he/she moved up with it.
This fish would disappear at times and I finally figured out it was swimming up the return of my filter and staying between the media...
I have read that for snail control a loach would be the way to go.
I am building a planted tetra type of tank. 30 gal and all the plants at every lfs has small snails all over them.
I thought about Black Kuhlii Loach (Pangio...
Lowe's grade of acrylic is too thin. I think 1/8 " is the thickest I've found at three within driving distance.
I found this on another site.

It shouldn't be a problem. I have used both before on my 20L and the water quality was always perfect. I only vacuumed the gravel directly around the power head side and left the other side of the tank alone. Never had any problems with health of fish and plants grew like crazy on the...

Thanks

I am obviously new here and am just enjoying all the diy threads and builds.
I have been keeping freshwater aquariums for almost 25 years now and am setting a 20 L up for my wife's school room.
Going to start on a nano reef for the first time in a month or so.
