I got one from walmart for about $8. It's very simple and it takes one AA battery and it's been running for 3 weeks. It kept my fish well fed over my week vacation away from them.

Is it safe to leave salt mixed water out in a bucket (since I like to mix a large batch when my tank only needs a small amount), and then use it say a week later?

The inverts wont be eaten by the fish. I have 2 clowns in my tank with 4 snails and 10 crabs. The clownfish are considered Damsel's but they don't touch my crabs and snails. The crabs and snails will eat the brown algae and sift your sand.

I don't know what the green is, but the brown looks like diatoms starting to form. It's a form of algae that will clear up over time with crabs and snails.

I have many crabs and many snails and I haven't had any dead snails from crabs stealing their shells. The crabs will really clean/turn over the sand so it's not so brown.

It's just brown diatoms. They happen with a cycle and sometimes with too much light. Throw some crabs and snails in and they keep the sand and glass clean of it. Also, the magnets on the side help. I wouldn't turn your lights off for two days as your corals need it. My rocks are completely...

I have two Hydor 1's and they blow everything (my GSP) around like crazy. I want them to make a nice even flow. My tank is 20G and currently one is located the left and one is located to the right on the side walls, upper top. Is there anywhere else I should put them to make that nice even flow?

I believe one of my fish died and I can't find it anywhere. I would have to pick up the rocks and move all my corals to find it because it hid underneath. My Nitrates went from 0 last night to about 20ppm today! I think that's why my corals are recessed. I did a partial water change...

I put a new Koralia 1 and a Rio Nano skimmer in the tank last night, this morning I find that my frogspawn and hammer don't come out all huge like they usually do. I see a white looking almost shrimp or cottonball thing sticking out of each of them. Whats wrong with my corals?

Thanks. I have the frogspawn right up about 8 inches from the light. The hammer is a little bit lower but not too much. What should I do for iodine/calcium? Should I buy the kent coral stuff?

Yesterday I went to the LFS and picked up some new corals for my new tank. I got a frogspawn, zoo's, and a hammer. The hammer I got two heads for the price of one. I'm wondering if a 65W coralife in a 20G is enough light for all of them?

How can I raise PH? It's sitting at about 7.8 and I know salties need to be in like 8.2.
