If you cant do large water changes often. I would add activated carbon to your filters frequently.

Also the MTS is lowering the PH so when you add new water the PH will go higher, Nothing to worry about. What is your water changing schedule? I bet if you double your WC's your problem will start to go away. As MTS makes water dirty and that cause's algae blooms. Which causes the plants growth...
