Hey all. I have done my research in trying to identify a hitch-hiker. I haven't added anything new in over 7 months, and just saw him last week. From a few pics I have found on the Internet, I am 98% sure that it is a stomatella snail, just not sure of the spelling or specific variety if there are many. Does anybody in this forum have any info on them (even basic is appreciated); such as good or bad, diet, special needs, etc.?

Sorry, no camera = no pic. The old lady insists that we save our money for our wedding.

Thanks as always!

Stomatella are little herbivorous snails that usually have their shell covered by the mantle. Considered a positive thing most of the time. Here's a photo of one species from google.

There's also a little writeup about them in the hitchhiker faq.

I couldn't remember which site had all of the pics that I came accross (too many bookmarked). I just found this pic at reefcorner.com. The coloring on the one in my tank is slightly different, but other than that it's a complete match. They are pretty neat snails and super fast!
