One with the branching is male and the one without the branching is female. I have a pair of these guys myself and I love them. They well color up more and become more brighter in color as they grow bigger, max 4".
Pics 1 and 2 look like males. 3 and 4, females. They can be a little tricky when small and in a sale tank. I've had a female pearl for 2-3yrs. She's always been a great addition to the tank.

The rays of the anal fin on males grows past the membrane of the fin and eventually turn bright blue.
