This was one of the first fish introduced to my tank in december 2003. It and the rest of the fish have done well up until about 4 weeks ago. This particular fish seemed to have lost some color, started hiding more and stopped noticeably eating for approximately one week. I fed it some shelled peas over the next week and its health improved. During this time, my water conditions were perfect. Two days ago I noticed it unable to swim a straight line. Looked as if its tail was weighed down. It mostly stayed at the bottom on its side. I transferred it to my 10g tank with the thoughts that it might have a better chance to recover. Yesterday it just looked miserable so I euthanized it by freezing it. I have read that this one humane way but I was not sure. I think it must of had swimbladder dz. All others look great and water is good.
