I placed a plastic ornament in my 45 gal tank over 2 months ago. It has really began to peel and flake. I'm able to vacuum up the paint flakes, but I'm worried about possible poisioning. I've never had any plastic ornaments and I don't know if this is normal. Anybody else have this kind of problem? And is there a danger from the paint flakes?

I've never seen that problem before, but I'd remove the ornament anyway. I wouldn't want my fish to accidently eat paint.
I agree with Jonah, if parts of the plastic is falling off the plant and your sucking it up in the vacuum then the plant should be removed. Sounds like real cheap quality too...
