Hello All,
I’m new to the Marine Aquarium. I have had the tank set up for 5 weeks now, cycling with Live Rock. When I purchased the tank I listened to my LFS and bought the tempered tank that can’t be drilled, (I can see an upgrade in the near future) so I’m using a canister filter and a hang-on protein skimmer. At the LFS I purchased a Sea Clone 150 protein skimmer. After reading the reviews and post on this forum, I decided a new skimmer would be the better solution.
I went with the Aqua C Remora Pro with Mag Drive 3 with the pre-skimmer attachment. Once installed and turned on, it immediately started producing foam. The Mag Drive 3 is rated at 350 GPH.
My newbie question to the group: Is there such a condition as too much skimming? The unit is very large and has certainly taken away from the appearance of the tank. However I want a healthy tank.
Also any advice on the Aqua C?
The tank will be FOWLR and the Q-tank will be set up this week for the first fish purchase.
Thanks
