Hi, I'm looking for a real hardy plant that I can put in my 29 gallon tank. I have 2 watersprites and some java moss. I'm looking for a plant that doesn't need much light and will help control the nitrites and nitrates. The tank is slightly brackish too. I am not going to get hornwort, oh that was a mess and didn't do too well.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure, but wonder if Java Ferns could handle brackish water?

Java fern is pretty toug, I think it will do well in a slightly brackish tank. I've read that Vallisneria sp. doesn't mind brackish conditions, maybe you could try that.

Yea, the thicker leaved anubias would be my suggestion... try anubias nana or coffeefolia. They're very similar plant. I think the nana is a bit larger, but the coffeefolia has really thick, crumply leaves. Very cool IMO.

I'm an anubias nut. I grow about every species imaginable.
