I have an angel which has a split tail fin. The bottom quarter has been torn up.
Problem is it must be stressing the angel out because its not as active as it used to be.
Now, some of my zebra danio's are haveing a peck at it from time to time, along with my dwarf garami.
What can I do to help the angel?:help:

quarantine the angel until fully healed.....consider treating to prevent secondary infection if fin not infected already. also, figure out what tore the tail to begin with (ie, don't return the recovered fish to the tank if the same guy that tore the tail in the 1st place is there to do it again)

QT and Melafix, plenty of clean water also.

You know, if it's not infected at all, why treat while in quarantine? Just plain clean water in a QT tank will help as much as anything.

melafix is pretty mild and will help resist infection.but IME split fins heal pretty fast with plenty of clean water.

also you may want to reconsider the tank mates for this angel. what size is the main tank?

I had the same issue about a week ago I seperated the Danios from the Angels and now the Angels are happy and thriving again. If you don't currently you wanna try to get into the habit of regular water changes this helps with the fish recovery time. Closely monitor the health of the Angelfish, if it worsens bump up the temp between 82F - 84F and try some of the meds the other community members suggested. Hope it helps.
