Okay, so I've had this wood in my tank for about a month and a half now... a month curing in my tank. The I ripped the tank apart, took the wood out for two days and put it back into the tank with all new water. Now, the wood has a white "fungus" growing on it, like little white hairs. I keep sponging it off but it keeps coming back...

I treated my water with MelaFix and now I'm traeting with PimaFix... it just wont stop growing. Parameters are good, temperature is at 79 F. No live plants, the tank is 90 gallons housing 3 small fish for now. I didn't have this problem with the fungus when curing, just a lot of tannins in the water, now it just doesn't stop growing.

Anyone?

i have it on mine as well. I am just letting it do it's thing and then hoping it will clear up on it's own unless someone tells me it will foul my tank.

fungus doesnt always go away on its own. what kind of wood is it? not all dead wood is driftwood. read the article in my sig. ;)
