2 Aquaclear 200s for 55gal goldie tank

Am I adding up your inches right? I have about 59" of goldfish. I tell people at least 5 gallons for every inch of goldfish and 10 gallons is best. They are such HUGE producers of waste/ammonia. That being said, its not totally impossible to keep these fish short term in your 55 gallon. Ideally, you should have an undergravel filter with powerheads (not air pumps), plus the most mechanical aeration you can. It's hard to get too much filtration with big or dirty fish. If your current set up is all you can afford right now, you can do a few things. You might consider trading some of your fish back in. The fish store may or may not give you some credit you can use on your new set up. Other than that, you should be doing at least 1/3 water changes every few days and being extremely careful with your feeding habits. Buy a test kit if you don't have one in order to keep an eye on your water parameters. I would hope that your budget allows you to get the new tank within a couple months because you are going to get tired of doing water changes! New 55 gal. tanks are routinely on sale everywhere for around $100 and kits range from $199 and up on sale. You could always do a layaway if you get desperate.

Hello Blue goldfish, Kate gave some great advice; your tank is overstocked. Lots of water changes and very light feedings is all I can recommend. Those two filters will not be enough.
