Quick question....does carbon in the filter remove the trace from flourish?

Supposedly it does, but there isnt any concrete info or evidence that is really does. You could try using Seachem's Purigen, which removes organics but supposedly leaves nutrients, and its rechargeable, which makes it cheaper in the long run. But be warned you need a ultra-fine mesh bag for purigen cause its really tiny stuff.

Carbon cannot effectively remove salts and minerals so it has a negligible effect on ferts. Like Purigen, carbon is mostly effective in adsorbing organics.

Thx...I have one of them ZooMed 501 filters and was wondering if I should removed the carbon and rings from it for the plants. No fishies in this tank.
