My tank...........

125g ....... 72 x 18 x 24............
475w 6500K CF spiral lighting.........
Sand substrate...........
Currently running temp at 75 degrees
1 large (3' x 1') driftwood, 1 small driftwood (1' x 1')
1 large (1' x 1') petrified wood cross section
360 gph canister
1 Koralia 3 & 1 Maxi-jet 600 for flow
Pressurized CO2
Planted level medium / medium heavy

Currently housing 8 Pearl Danios (approx 1 1/2 in. each)

I'm looking to expand the fish stock in this tank. Wife says she doesn't want it to be all "silver" fish....... I really like the looks of Praecox Rainbows, so I guess I'll have about 5-6 of them in my plan, but I need suggestions as to what else would be compatible and thrive in this tank.

Not interested in Gouramis, Plecos, or any more Danios. Schooling fish OK.... I just want a nice , colorful, peaceful community with low maintenance fish.

A few dwarf crays, some cherry shrimp and a neocaridina shrimp species. And some briggs.

Hits in a planted tank:

Apistogramma-relatively soft water, other than that easy to keep
Altum Angels-harder to keep, but beautiful
Discus-soft water, low nitrate, frequent water changes or heavily planted
Cardinals -always a top choice
Rummynose-great schoolers
Harlequin Rasbora-great schoolers, really easy to keep, cheap
Otocinclis - algae control
SAE - algae control
Pitbull, Rubberlip, or BN Pleco-I know you said no Pleco, but for anybody else

Inverts:
Red Cherry Shrimp - Easy to keep, breeds well, algae control, cool looking
Amanos-great for algae, won't breed in FW, can be expensive
Nerite snails - Olive nerites for cheap algae control, zebra or others for algae control
and an awesome invert

Congo tetras are nice too.
