Saw something disgusting at Complete Petmart

I had good feelings for them for working with the Humane Society to place pets up for adoption. Not anymore - am thinking more for selfish publicity reasons than any real wish to help.

Saw 2 glassfish in their store with red dye on lips and a dyed message 'I Luv U' on the body. It was disgusting. And selling for a mere $4-5. Poor fish.
 
GEEZ! Can it get any worse then this?
 
Worse, their tank of feeder goldfish had 75% dead or dying fish in 2 piles with the rest pecking at the piles. The other tanks were not much better. I spent a total of 2 minutes gaping at the kissing gouramis and feeders and exited the store never to return.

Edited: Those were kissing gouramis, not glassfish sorry. I just looked up pictures. They labeled them as glassfish and I didn't know any better.

while it is good to vent your frustrations, it will do little to change the situation. Perhaps you could contact the Humain Soc. and inform them they are dealing with animal abusers. Visit www.deathbydyeing.org and do some research on what else can be done to stop the practice of mutilating fish. Firebomb the petsto.....ummm, on second though, mabey just try the first 2 suguestions. ;)

Ive seen the very same thing, only with zig zags instead of flowers. Labelled as "painted parrots". I was surprised as the store is absolutely brilliant with everything else. Really passionate guys who are willing to chat for hours. I'll say something to them if I see it again, wish I did at the time.
 
Was this at a Petsmart or a Petmart?
 
Couldn't be a Petsmart as they don't sell any type of artificially dyed/altered fish at all. Most likely a Pet Mart.
 
yeah..... my local wal-mart actually only sells dyed BS tetras! not to mention that the filter intake on one of their fishtanks is actually completely clogged with fish corpses, and the whole department smells like dead fish. makes me feel like going on a murder rampage just thniking about it.....
 
this "I luv u" crap on fish, is there a craze now? ive seen blood parrots and now kissers "inked"
