is leafzone o.k. to use with flourish root tabs? Mixing them won't hurt my fish will it?

I have java fern, cabomba? and a sword plant in the tank with my fish.

Leaf Zone is iron and potassium, used at the proper levels shouldn't harm your fishes even if you use root tabs. Weekly or by-weekly water changes will ensure that it doesn't reach dangerous levels.

Neither one is a good solution. The Leaf Zone is small amounts of iron and potassium and the Flourish tabs are primarily sulfur and calcium.

If you really want to fertilize your tank then you need something else. Take a few minutes and read the Nutrient/Fertilizer section of my Guide.

Flourish root tabs is a comprehensive fertilizer that cover most of your nutrient needs but is isolated to the substrate, great for heavy root feeders like the amazon sword but not so great for the java fern which shouldn't be planted in the traditional sense.

The java fern and cabomba would benefit from Leaf Zone, but they may also need other supplements like nitrogen, phosphate, and more micro nutrients. It will depend on your light level and rate of plant growth. The more light you have the faster they grow, and the more nutrients they'll need.

i'm definitely no plant/fert guru, but i have used (and am still using) Planttabbs fert tablets and my plants have exploded since i started. (also doubled the lighting on the tank.)
