I've already been told in no uncertain terms that I can't buy another 55 or a 40 breeder. I have one 55 set up, and don't have a place to set up the other 55 (which is just sitting in the living room) that we already have. Don't want a 20 high, but 20 long and 29 actually are drawing interest. I can maybe talk the wife into a 29.... maybe. Of course, that's complicated by the 10 that's set up as the quarantine tank, the plan to set up our second 10 as an invert tank, and the plan to set up our third 10 as a second invert tank. :hypnotized:

Oh, and I have 3 Petcos within a 20 minute drive that I'm aware of. Maybe 5, because I think there may be two more if I'm willing to head west.

All of my tanks have custom built stands. All were made for under $60 except my 40g and 100g, which were $90 and $135 accordingly and built for atomic bomb blasts and future additions.

I just bought a 29g at petsmart on sale with filter, heater, hood, light, for $60. Just another head up that there are more options than the $/g.
exactly. Looking back petco had a great deal on a 29g kit. Granted the light wouldnt be ideal for most plants and the filter wasnt that great, but the tank, lid, heater, and a light for maybe $20-$30 more than I paid for my 29g tank and the versa top (that I dont like much).

id have opted for the 40 B before the 55 but thats just my opinion, I have a 55 and its just weird looking to me long and skinny. Plus the 40 B is just one of my favorite tanks as its easy to set up and mantain and has a good footprint

I also still stand by the fact that the dollar per gallon sale is on really a true value if you get a larger size tank as thats when they start saving the most money

I just called Petco (the only one, which is an hour away). They have a 50% off on 20-55 gallon tanks. I wish it was $1 per gallon though! I wouldn't mind another tank though...

It wasn't an open box or mark down? Reason I ask is, they were on sale for ~$85 near me. I paid ~$105 for my Top Fin 29G kit from Petsmart in January. Decent setup. I like the LED hood. The Top Fin 30 HOB is a bit undersized though. 100W heater works well.
