i have 2 powerheads in my display. and i am going to be switcking one out for even more flow. my tank is 29 gallons

i guess it kinda depends on what type of tank your going for... if you want sps, you will want the extra flow... otherwise, you might not... just remember, in that small of a tank, you have to be careful because you might have a sandstorm on your hands....

So when I get going after the cycle I need a cleanup crew of what do you guys suggest

Being a 12g I think I'd stay away from the star completely.

well I broke down and got the tank AP 12g 70w HQI , maxi 900 to replace the stock pump and the hydro nano.

I couldnt pass up the deal with marine depot on the tank cheapest I have seen it. Not sure if they will be cheaper in dec decided not to take a chance.

Im going to start this tank in december, I have a vacation Im going on and when I get back it will be time to start this up.

And I will start my log so you guys can help me out.

everything you have is good so far. here are my expierances with the numerous nanos i have set up (the API test kit is ok but Saliferts single test are more accurate)
and buy the medium magcleaner, the smaller one will break apart when your sliding it around

-stock pump switch with an added hydor swivel
-LOTS of live rock
-switch the bio balls out with live rock
-small water changes every week
-check salinity daily
-low stock amount = less bio load = less likley to crash
-MH lighting will heat up your water +3-5 degrees at hour intervals so chiller is required
