My suggestion was more or less advocating for having no fronts at all with the other fish. Mbuna have different dietary requirements and temperaments...I've certainly seen larger fronts with mbuna, and although I still don't like the combo, it can sometimes work. BUT one major concern is that at a smaller size they may not do well with mbuna that get much more territorial with age.

I would recommend starting with mbuna in your 75 and getting rid of the fronts. They are great in their own large(150+ gallon) tank, but are problematic in cichlid communities - they can get bullied or they can eat smaller fish.

For mbuna make sure you start with a good combination of known species. So many people take the quick/easy route of the big cheap "mixed mbuna" and then end up with a bunch of fish they don't want when they learn more.
