Hmm...not a bad idea. In due time, perhaps. There's still much yet to learn and many macros I haven't tried. So far I found that Iron supplementation is one of the most important nutrients in maintaining macros. The red macros don't stick around long enough due to fish and crabs feeding on them. All you can do is restock when they are depleted.
I haven't experimented with lighting, yet; but I assume what I currently have is sufficient.
If or when I turn this tank into a reef, most of the macros will be removed. Organic material and leaf litter from the macros is quite a chore to clean up.
I'll probably setup a nice planted fuge if I go reef.
