:huh: Ok now I am confused what is the difference between CAE'S AND OTOS. What does CAE stand for the LFS just called these fish gold brown algae eaters.
CAE stands for Chinese Algae Eaters - google this and you'll find out that these probably are not the fish you want!
A true SAE (Siamese Algae Eater) or oto is what you want.

some good info. OTOS - http://www.planetcatfish.com/shanesworld/shanesworld.php?article_id=178

CAE stands for Chinese Algae Eaters. For the most part they arent very good for the smaller fish aquarium. They clean pretty well while they are small. but when they get larger they get very aggressive and start to eat the smile coats of the other fish. Pet stores sell them in the regular and golden variety. Looks like you bought kind of an inbetween but it might just be a picture.

What are tank busters? LOL if you see my sig I have a variety so far the CAE'S aren't showing aggression. I will look out for it though and see what happens they are doing an awesome job cleaning my brown algae so will see what happens. I only bought two of them.

tank busters are fish that get extremely large. Generally assigned to fish requiring 55 gal and more. Examples are pacu, arapaima, oscars and many other cichlids, and many many types of catfish. But from the specs on your tanks you dont have to worry. And the chinese algae eaters are pretty good fish, its not until they get older that they begin to get aggressive, so definately watch out for that with the tetra, cause i had to get rid of one because it was so nasty towards other fish. And thats about the time they stop eating the algae as well. But for now you are ok so nothing to worry about for a while

To explain, CAEs are cyprinids and are far larger than the otos. Note that CAEs can reach 10 inches max. Otos do not grow beyond 2-2.5 inches and are categorized under catfish genus.

Look into this pictures closely.
CAE=Chinese Algae Eater

Do not listen to your lfs or even follow their labels. Pet stores often mislabel them and make-up names are very misleading.
