I've only had my red cherries for about two months hehe, I'll count myself as a noob until I've kept shrimp for a few years :p

Well the last time I tested for KH and GH was a week ago:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 10
pH: 8.2
GH: 20 degrees
KH: 10 degrees

I'm still a little confused over KH and GH unit conversions (degrees of hardness and ppm??). I just use the units from my API test kit.

ppm is a certian mesure for "parts per million". it is just telling you how many millions of one type of particle is in a mesured volume of water!!!!

do shrimp require a high ph???? i see yours is 8.2!!!

I meant converting between degrees of hardness and ppm hehe. Red cherries (neocaridina) are able to adapt to a wide range of pH as long as it's stable and they have time to acclimate. 8.2 is a little higher than optimal for red cherries (but great for my snails and the shrimp seem perfectly fine). Check out Arizona Inverts for a good guide to all kinds of different shrimp and what they need :)

I think you should do a search for what kind of shrimp you want information on. That is too general of a question to really answer. There is TONS of info available in the invert section here. When you getmore specific, I am sure tons of people will chime in.
