If you are allergic to it, peanut butter is deadly. Anything can be deadly if used incorrectly, thats why we have stupid warning labels on everything. Maybe all anemones should be labeled: WARNING Sea Anemones are for external use only, not to be licked or used as a pacifier or food supplement!!! Maybe people were confusing them with jellyfish and making peanut butter and jellyfish sandwiches.

it doesnt matter if its mice, m&ms, m&ms with nuts, or anemones. random things hurt people

Because she isn't actually marine biology majored, our school's old marine bio teacher retired and she took over. She's actually a science teacher.

In this case, she's referring to the anemones commonly found in tide pools, the type that you can touch and are kinda sticky...
did she mean an actual tide pool, or like when you go to a public aquarium and you can hold crabs and starfish and stuff? or maybe if the kids touched the anemone and then put their fingers in their mouths when it stung them?

i know kids do crazy stuff, but would one really stick their face underwater and open their mouth to lick something attached to a rock in a pool of salty water?

the teacher may have the facts correct, but she needs better examples to frame them in. . . .

poisonius anemone

The standard tide pool anemone would not be able to sting even the tongue but the hell fire anemone or a carpet could kill even an adult and they dont live in tide pools they live in deeper parts of the reef. So I dont think thats posable any ways a child would spit it out it probably dosnt taste that good
