they were 10 left in the 75 gal and i had watched for fighting or picking and never saw any but now that the plecos are moved toanother tank i have not missed any more. all seams to be doing fine.

great, keep an eye on it.. 10 in a 75 may eventually run into aggression. P.Scalare are notorious for it

My dwarf gourami got that too so I went to my fish store and also got some melafix. I think it was caused by another fish nipping at him. Then the next day I saw the other fish nipping at the wound and I was so outraged I dumped him in a bowl with some dechlorinated water and kept him in there for a couple of days to see he would stop and then I put him back in. Did he stop? NO!!! That was the end for him. I took him to a fishstore and got 5 bucks for him. Heh Heh heh...
