Hey guys, I used to be in the fish hobby since 2006 but due to personal issues I have stopped since Feb. of 2009. I am just now getting back into it as I have kept all my old equipment.

I remember reading on here that the API FW Master test kit has an expiration date. I can't exactly remember when I got the kit, but it was probably in summer of 2008. I also have the GH/KH test kit that I got a couple weeks later. I know the lot number has something to do with it, so here they are:

Ammonia 1: 83A0108
Ammonia 2: 84A1207
Nitrate 1: 17A1107
Nitrate 2: 18B0108
Nitrite: 26A1007
Ph: 28B1207
High Ph: 27A1107
GH: 58A1207
KH: 59A1207

Expired? Keep them around?

The last four numbers are the month and year of mfg. Some of the kits are good for two years after this date, some three. Can't remember which ones.

Looks like all of the ones you posted have expired.

In response to your question, each reagent bottle has a Lot # printed on
the bottle. The last four digits are the month and year of manufacture.
Example: Lot # 28A0102. This is a pH reagent manufactured in January of
2002. Pond Care Wide Range pH, Ammonia, High Range pH, Nitrate,
Phosphate, Copper, Calcium and GH all last for three years. Nitrite and
KH will last for four years. Freshwater pH(low range) and Pond Care Salt
Level will last for five years. I would not trust these kits after they
have expired.

Ok so it appears that my Nitrite, KH, and pH are still fine to use and the rest have just passed their expiration date. Which is fine with me in the short term because I really only use the KH and pH test kit and those are hard to find around here. I'll just buy the Nitrate and Ammonia kits separately.
