Lady G, did MFK make any comments about his need for nutrition? Sunken eyes?

Do you have enough info if so?

Get him lots of zuccini...

He looks good. We have some in Barton springs here in Austin Texas that people have let go. Shame on them but you should see these things. I saw one that was almost 3 feet long and it was massive. I thought it was a big stick at first. They get gorgeous when they are that big.
ya we gots em here too. caught two foot long beauts bout a month ago

Thanks!!! No, they really didn't say anything about him, just that he was nice and a "common" and how big is he...that kinda stuff. Well, I through zuccini in there anyway so that I'll continue. Now what about the "sunken" eyes???

Wow Hoover is a handsome devil of a plec!

I agree with you G, he deserves better than 'common' since more than one species are called 'common' plecs.

Hoover is a Pterygoplicthys paradalis (links goes to planetcatfish profile :) )
I actually doubt that Hoover is a Pterygoplicthys paradalis as they traditionally have spots on their fins and not the lines like Hoover has. Furthermore without a full dorsal extension it is also a little hard to get a good idea as to species as well. I would post on www.plecofanatics.com and ask there what he is.I coul;d be wrong as to the ID, but the lines on the pectoral fin are not normal for Pterygoplicthys paradalis.

Good luck and yes... it is a very beautiful specimin.
