Ha! Look at all that macrophytic algae still hanging on. I wonder if it's an epizooic alga specific to these snails, or just an alga taking advantage of the deterioration on the pleurocerid shells. It does seem like it has decreased somewhat, although that may just be because they aren't covered in mulm.
I will lend you one of my 1 1/2" bn plecos. I have 2 and they go from snail to snail making sure they are clean of algae.
