unfortunately we don't really have the room for a notehr tank, although we have considered it.

we do have a very good filtration system and the water is very clear. I really don't know what to do for the best at the moment. To add to it all i think one of our fidh has ich!

it's not easy this fish thing..........although it is very rewarding :)

Clear water does not alway equal good water quality. Make sure you do at least 50% weekly water changes, keeping a close eye on ammonia, nitrItes, nitrAtes & pH.

at 5 years old the scat should be WAY bigger than 4". The scat needs full strength SW BTW, or at the least high end BW. It would also be advisable to find a new tank. Scats are very messy and require alot of space and very efficient filtration. Even for just one.

My last silver scat grew 3 inches in 5 months so yours must be a year only or so.

Once again,.... Plecos are strictly FW NOT Brackish. Alot of fish venture into BW for short periods in their lifetime but cannot live in those conditions for their entire life.
