Brackish Riparium

I keep running into new unusual strange plants that are possible candidates for this setup.

I was just reminded about an especially weird tropical aroid that grows in swampy riverbank forests in South America, Montrichardia arborescens. It grows into a weird small tree and forms dense stands in the water. Just look at these image search results...

Sometimes it is hard to find commerical sources for odd tropicals in the US, even though nurseries in Australia and Indonesia and places like that have them, but there is apparently this place in Florida that has this plant...

I gotta get this plant and try it out in this tank. Supposedly it can grow in brackish water too. It will eventually get way too big, but I should be able to manage it for a while and maybe prune it back.

Sweet setup. What have you got for lighting?

This setup just has a single HO T5 lamp with reflector. This is a little too dim but I am going to add a second T5 and that should be enough.

you know what would be an awesome fish to do in this tank? is an archer fish... I am looking into one for my 20 tall... how do you come up on these mangroves?
