In other words, how did you introduce the clown from the fish store bag and water to your tank?

hey folks...i did the cup method. opend the bag so it floats in the tank, turned off tank light, removed 1/2 the water in the bag, every 5-10 min, i squirt 1floz of water from my tank to the bag for about 45min-60min and then slowly release the fish from the bag.

water conditions

temp ~ 78 F
salinity ~ 1.024
ph~7.8
ammonia ~ 0
nitritite ~ 0
nitrate ~ 0
calcium ~ 400
phosphate ~ 0
alkalinity ~ >270ppm

by the way - i seem to be having a hard time adjusting my pH level. i've been using kent marine superbuffer dKH. How is it possible that my alkalinity is so high but my pH is so low.

also i recently upgraded my lights i now have coralife lights ~ 90 watt in 25 gal. tank. am i ready for corals? i'll keep waiting. i'm waiting to get my skimmer installed. i'm still running my fluval but apparently i need to get rid of it.

thanks,

I can't believe I'm quoting myself...

Anyway, sorry! I got this thread confused with another thread talking about clownfish. The above was meant for someone else.

As far as your pH, you may find these links pretty useful...

The first one's on basic water chemistry, pH and KH, and ways to increase your pH.

Last 2 are on kalkwasser/limewater raising your pH...

I agree, But if you did acclimatize it correctly, make sure you have propper water movement and good oxygenated water. Dont fiddle around too much, let the fish find 'its feet'. Give it another day or two, He should come right:)
