Heteractis crispa has been a problem to the tank in the past (spawning), I have been lucky in that she's been with me for almost 14 years.

You're right though, there probably was a problem. I was running six or seven tanks at a time back then, and the problem could have been the lighting. I never was able to talk myself in to MH lights, although I had a very serious fluorescent setup. I don't recall the new generation of HO fluorescents being readily available back then.

Also we used home made skimmers which seemed effective but probably were not up to today's standards.

This time around I have one tank with combo MH/CF lighting and a modern skimmer, so perhaps I'll try again.
