Yes i have learnt a very valuable lesson. i was given a 25 gal tank today. i think it is a bit small as a qt tank, or is it. also do i need to keep my qt tank running all the time, In regards to the biological filter, or can i just fill it from my display tank when needed. how long should i qt the average fish.
My powder blue tang isnt looking so well i think i might loose him he hasnt eaten for a couple of days he looks really hollow. Is this what crypto dose. what End can i expect for my tang

Unfortunately crypto/blue tangs go hand in hand. I don't know anyone that has a blue tang that hasn't had crypto at some point.
It isn't sounding good for the fish. A suggestion if possible would be to soak some seaweed/nori sheets in something like Garlic Guard/Garlic Xtreme and/or Boyd's Vita-Chem and hope it will eat some of that to get its strength back.
Think of it in human terms.. when we get sick or stressed out, one of the first things that happens to us, just like the fish, is we lose our appetites. We are smart enough to realize that even if we don't feel like eating we still need to, unlike fish who will starve themselves to death if the parasites don't kill them first.

25g could work, depending upon the fish. You do not have to run the qt all the time--just make sure that a biological filter is handy (maybe leaving media somewhere for a couple of weeks before you know you'll purchase a fish). Fish should be quarantined for at least several weeks. If you decide to do a prophylactic hyposalinity treatment (very safe and can help actually ease some stress), then the full 6 week isolation time is necessary. Just be sure it isn't more than one fish, otherwise you are going to push the quarantine to its limits. Without seeing your fish it is hard to tell. If the disease isn't treated and the emaciation has become very pronounced (sunken dorsal musculature is a very bad sign), it will die. I will tell you that, based upon your description, the odds are against it at this point. I can't really say much else.
Well the fish died today. $160 and all i got to show for it is a diseased Tank

on the upside now i have somthing to treat the disease. if i had the medication in the first place it may not have ended like this.
So Now for the most important pice of advice all you good ppl can possably give me
what would be the three or four most important medications To have on hand.
There are only 3 fish shops in darwin and they all specialise in fw.
2 stock marine, but not much in the way of marine products.
