DIY CO2 piping question

im building a DIY CO2 system and im wonderin what kind of tubing to use? does regular air line from air pumps work or is it some special kind of line? thx!

i disagree. silicone lets out a lot of co2. more so in diy when you want as much of that co2 in the tank i would invest in some more co2 proof tubing.

I use airline tubing just fine...I have no way to 'measure' the efficiency but I definitely see increased plant growth!

well increased plant growth is all that really matters, its time for my hobby to support it's self!

I read (if memory serves) that regular tubing loses about 6% of your CO2 per foot of tubing, also know that CO2 will cause premature stiffening of the tubing.

It can cause stiffening of vinyl airline tubing. I know first hand cause I had to clean up a big mess of diy co2 mix from my wife's $2000 sofa which by the way still smells like rotten bread.

I use the same piece of silicone tubing for DIY for about 8 months and have been pretty happy with it, no brittleness and still bendy.

silicone tubeing? they sell that at my a hobby store in town i think ill just save the accident waitin to happen and go get that instead!
